Although the world behind Cyra is being created by several very helpful and talented volunteers, the main set of gears that make the whole project run essentially come down to one wacky developer (Leo Carbajal) and an equally unstable artist (Jennifer Mealing). Any and all donations are split 50/50 unless there's a pressing need in one direction or the other, or in the case of custom artwork & prints where all proceeds go to the very deserving artist who created the work.
Donating is done out of the goodness of your heart and does not imply any sort of agreement, contract, or obligation from us to you. Unless donations can take the place of our combined salaries, there's only so much we can do to speed up the development. What your donations do accomplish is keep our interests piqued, and provide some much needed relief from monthly and other operational costs.
How do my donations get used?
As previously stated, donations are shared between the artist and the developer. We keep records of everyone who donates, and even those who do so more than once. When we find ways to thank you, be it in the immediate or long term future, we will. These donations contribute towards any number of the following: assembla (source control), hosting & server costs, software tools, licencing fees, miscellaneous supplies for art, stock costs (such as sounds, fonts, images & textures) and other asset subscriptions. When possible, we will always specify a reason if we're driving for subscriptions.
